Sun Koshi River/Tamur River Combined Rafting

11 Days

A traditional river trip, the Sun Koshi River combined with an exhilarating section of the Tamur River is renowned for being among the top ten river journeys worldwide. Every day on the river is exciting and unique because of the constantly shifting scenery. High mountains, an open valley, forests, and tiny, isolated villages can be seen at the start of the journey. You reach the prosperous village of Chatara and open plains in the last days.

The class 3 rapids that are encountered at the start of the Sun Koshi trip are quite easy, providing a great opportunity for real team development. The size of the rapids increases as the river meanders across the nation, and it is not uncommon for villagers observing from the riverbank to lose sight of the raft in the vast waters!

The above-mentioned unique Sun Koshi trip concludes with a quick drive and camping near the Tamur River. We’ll raft the Tamur the following morning. It’s a thrilling and strong river with more than 30 Class 4+ rapids that happen quickly! We camp at the confluence after re-joining the Sun Koshi, and the following morning we raft to Chatara and head back to Kathmandu.

The ideal way to wrap up the Sun Koshi River Trip is with an additional day trip to Tamur. For those who wish to combine serene stretches of breathtaking scenery, some strenuous rapids, and the experience of a long trip where friendships can frequently start for a lifetime, this is the perfect trip.
