Overview

Mera Peak, at 6476m, is the highest trekking peak in Nepal that can be climbed by people without mountaineering experience. It is situated on the edge of the famous Khumbu region, which is dominated by Mount Everest. Mera is a straightforward climb and is frequently ascended by groups and individuals with little or no climbing experience.

Trekking through Hunku Valley offers a true wilderness experience. From here, we proceed slowly to the east, crossing the Zatr La, and after nine days of trekking, we eventually reach the Mera La, where we site our base camp.

The steady climb to the north summit rewards our efforts with one of the finest viewpoints in Nepal, giving fantastic views of five 8000m peaks; Everest and Lhotse to the north; Kanchenjunga and Makalu to the east; and Cho Oyu to the west.
